Currently a Jones Lecturer in Poetry, Maria Hummel is the author of the novel Wilderness Run (St. Martin's) and chapbook City of the Moon (Harperprints). Her nonfiction, poems, and stories have appeared/are forthcoming in Ploughshares, The Believer, Crazyhorse, The Sun, and Creative Nonfiction. Her recent awards include the 2009 Penelope Niven Award for Creative Nonfiction and a grant from the Barbara Deming foundation. She was a 2005-07 Stegner Fellow in Poetry.
