ENGLISH 152: Introduction to Caribbean Literature (seminar) Taught by: Arnold Rampersad Fall Quarter, 2009-2010 MW 1:15-3:05, Room: 460-334 | A survey of some of the major works of literature, including fiction and poetry, published by writers from the Caribbean over the last hundred years or so. Although the emphasis will be on writing in English, we will also read selected French and Spanish texts in translation. The writers to be studied include Derek Walcott, V.S. Naipaul, Jamaica Kincaid, Michelle Cliff, Jean Rhys, and Earl Lovelace. |
