This seminar will explore the diverse nature of Irish-American literature including works of pre-famine, famine, and post-famine immigrants. The course will consider questions of ethnic and cultural identity and include reading and discussion of mainstream writers of Irish ancestry as well as lesser-known Irish-American authors.
