For the last couple for weeks, we have been working on organizing an event with SLE and the Stanford Humanities Center. NOW, we are very proud to share with you the final result.

On Wednesday, November 17th from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., we will host a conversation with Kenyan novelist and essayist Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o at the Stanford Humanities Center Board Room. Ngũgĩ will join us remotely for this private conversation, but we will offer an in person gathering where most of the conversation will take place.

About the speaker:
Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o is one of the most celebrated African novelists of our time. Writing in Gikuyu, his novels and plays have been translated into dozens of languages, reaching an international audience. Among his most famous works are A Grain of Wheat, Decolonising the Mind, and The Perfect Nine.
