Margaret will talk about her soon-to-be released book with Princeton Press: The Underwater Eye: How the Movie Camera Opened the Depths and Unleashed New Realms of Fantasy. Examining works by filmmakers ranging from Jacques Cousteau to Wes Anderson, this richly illustrated book explores the history of underwater filmmaking and how it has profoundly influenced both the aesthetics of movies and public perception of the oceans. Margaret has a long history of teaching courses about literature and the oceans, including brave excursions to Hopkins with all kinds of classes.
