We warmly invite you to Waves of Convergence: Ocean Sciences and Ocean Humanities, a special event happening on February 6 and 7, 2025 at the Hopkins Marine Station in Pacific Grove.

This event promises to be a unique opportunity to connect with leading scholars and practitioners in both ocean sciences and ocean humanities, two fields with deep histories of exploring how humans interact with oceans and how oceans function as complex ecological systems. These streams of knowledge, while rich and impressive, have seldom intersected meaningfully. To help bridge this gap, the conference aims to bring together experts to share research, identify shared areas of interest, and explore new pathways for co-creating knowledge.

In this era of climate change, the urgency of understanding the interactions between humans and the oceans cannot be overstated. Through this convergence of disciplines, we hope to foster new interdisciplinary approaches that address these pressing challenges.
