Ben Wiebracht, Ph.D. '15 Wins MLA Publication Award
The Modern Language Association of America has announced the winner of the sixteenth Modern Language Association Prize for a Scholarly Edition. The prize will be presented to Ben Wiebracht, English instructor at Stanford Online High School, and students Madeline Ayer, Aidan Bekendam, Jacob Bryant, Ferris Haukom, Mayuko Karakawa, Edithe Lam, Sabine Mazzeo, Rathan Muruganantham, Isabella Romagnoli, Annika Ross, April Y. Wen, Silas Wesner, Noelle Wu, Ethan Yun, Nicolás A. Zepeda, and Jiayun Zhang for their edition of William Combe’s The Tour of Doctor Syntax in Search of the Picturesque, published by Pixelia Publishing. An honorable mention will go to Mary Ellen Lamb, professor emerita of English at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; Garth Bond, associate professor of English at Lawrence University until his death last summer; and Steven W. May, adjunct professor of English at Emory University, for The Poems of William Herbert, Third Earl of Pembroke, published by Iter Press.
