New Article by Alice Staveley and Students

Leading a team of Stanford undergraduates, including three English majors, in a multi-year effort to transcribe, data visualize, and historically contextualize Virginia Woolf’s book sales records, Alice Staveley, along with Victoria Ding, Emily Elott, Khuyen N. Le, Ekalan Hou and Peter Morgan, has published the first combined digital humanities and book historical investigation into Woolf’s ‘Order Books’ and their impact on her role as a leading twentieth-century British publisher. Thanks to the English Department and the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis (CESTA) for supporting this complex collaborative work, and to the students who, now graduated, are building careers in fields as wide-ranging as law, equity analysis, psychology, art history, and software development.
